M&L webinar: New assessment strategies in the media-rich class

An increasing number of universities globally are expanding their use of videos and visual media to support their course delivery. As a result, assessment strategies and tools are having to be developed in order to effectively support teaching and learning that use this type of media. In this webinar, researchers / practitioners from the North American and European contexts outline and discuss the interface between assessment and video use in media-rich learning environments.

Brendan Calandra, Georgia State University, USA

Brendan Calandra is an Associate Professor of Learning Technologies at Georgia State University, USA. His research and teaching focus on the use of digital media for learning and professional development. He is also lead editor of the book Digital Video for Teacher Education: Research and Practice, which was recently published with Routledge.

Andrew Whitworth, University of Manchester, UK

Andrew Whitworth is Senior Lecturer at the Manchester Institute of Education, University of Manchester, UK. He is Programme Director of the MA: Digital Technologies, Communication and Education, which in 2012 was the recipient of a Blackboard Catalyst award for innovative communications strategies with distance learners. He has published two single-authored books, "Information Obesity" (2009) and "Radical Information Literacy" (2014).
