Is 4K video just another hype or does it offer new possibilities in education. During this webinar we will be discussing 4K as well as 3D and several other new developments of particular interest to the higher education community.
 

 

 



Speakers

André Rosendaal, University of Groningen, The Netherlands

After graduating in Applied Mathematics, André Rosendaal worked as software engineer for the Dutch Open University in a number of CBT projects. He is currently employed at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, where he is responsible for various eLearning projects. For over fifteen years, video in education has been one of his topics of interest. He contributed to several national and international projects such as Davideon and VideoAktiv. He is also the creator of the Virtual Cutter, an online tool for creating clips of streaming media. From 2009 until 2014, he was chair of the Dutch SIG Weblectures. He is currently member of the board of the Dutch SIG Media & Education.

 

Mathy Vanbuel, ATiT, Belgium

With a background in audio-visual production, Mathy worked for the audio-visual service of the Catholic University of Leuven for more than 15 years as director and production manager. Since 1998, Mathy is co-director of ATiT. He is regularly called upon to offer consultancy services in the integration of specific ICT tools and multimedia services in the education process and clients have included the European Commission, European Schools network, the European Space Agency, The World Bank, etc. Mathy was visiting lecturer MultiMedia Management at the Interfaculty in Maastricht (NL). He is author of several publications on the use of media in education and of scenarios of use of media in education. Mathy is chairperson of the Judging Committee of the MEDEA Awards and Secretary of the MEDEA Association for Media and Learning.
